Term 1 
Literacy 
Writing: Weekly recounts to develop the use of skilful thinking and planning before writing.

We will also look at different structures of writing for different purposes.

Reading comprehension:  We look at identifying key information from different parts of a text to help us understand the message of what we read.  We will continue to use our Sharp Reading skill of "I think that means" to think more critically about the meaning of text we read sentence-by-sentence.

Topic-related reading: We develop our skills in researching and recording information in different ways as we research different famous and heroic people.

Numeracy
Knowledge of place value, instant recall of addtion and subtraction facts to 20, increasing instant recall of times tables.  Number order and sequencing.
